The Naugatuck Railroad is proud to announce The Connecticut Ice Cream Train is back for 2026!

Take a break from the heat of summer and enjoy a 30-minute scenic train ride through the Naugatuck River Valley and over the Thomaston Dam.

At only $15 per person, you won’t want to miss this! Cool off with your friends and family this summer in one of our historic passenger cars as you enjoy a large scoop of ice cream! On our journey, there will be a scavenger hunt that includes a prize upon our return to Thomaston Station.

Passengers will have the choice between Chocolate, Strawberry, and Vanilla Ice Cream. Excursions will feature Connecticut Made Ice Cream from the Nutmeg Fudge Company of Torrington! Ice Cream is included in the ticket price!

This excursion is perfect for families looking for a short and engaging train ride. These trains often sell out, so we strongly recommend purchasing tickets in advance.
